As the Liberty Center Lady Tigers regular season is coming to an end, the ladies are preparing for tournaments. Earning the first girls’ soccer league title in school history is not enough for these Tigers, they want to make it to the state tournament. However, before they bring their A-game to tournaments, they want to finish off their regular season with an undefeated record. An undefeated season would also be a first for the Lady Tigers. With the hours of hard work and dedication, the soccer team is not going to give up.  The amount of work these girls are putting forth will bring them to their goal, to make it to the state championship.

On Tuesday, October 9, the Tigers traveled to Miller City to play a non-league game against the Wildcats. The Lady Tigers began the shut out quickly in the first half, with multiple goals from Sam Engler and Aubree Hollenbaugh. The Tigers shots were accurate all night. Cassidy Chapa added a goal for the Tigers. The defensive end of the game was remarkable as well. Hailey Craft, Lydia Long, Mallory Vollmar, Jillian Hoffman, Kendal Bostelman, and Delana McClure controlled the back side of the field. Keeper Riley Miller did not let anything go past her throughout the whole game. The Lady Tigers took victory over the Miller City Wildcats 7-0.

On Thursday, October 11, the Lady Tigers played another non-league game against Cory Rawson. The game was at Widewater, and knocked off the Hornets 8-0. The ladies will then play their last regular season game on Saturday, October 13th. The Tigers will be traveling to Sandusky Perkins, as their last fight for an undefeated regular season. This game will take action at 7 pm.

After the regular season has come to an end, the ladies will be working to reach their goal in tournaments. As of now, the Lady Tigers are ranked number one in the district, and third in the region. The Tigers have a bye week on the first round of tournaments. Playing in the first round of tournaments is the Delta Panthers vs the Otsego Knights. The Liberty Center Tigers will host the winner of this game, at Widewater on October 20th. The game between the Tigers and winner of round one tournament will begin at 2 pm. If the Lady Tigers win, they will then play against the winner of Continental vs Swanton. The winner of this game will then move on to further tournaments.

Please come out and support the Tigers as they continue to create history. The ladies have worked hard all season, and we hope they can reach their goals as a team. Let’s show the Tigers the support they deserve!
