Digital Media is a semester long class that teaches an introduction to art and technology. In this class students will use a variety of computer art programs to develop artwork that reflects problem solving and critical thinking. Art historical movements will also be studied as they relate to student projects. Some concepts students will explore in this class are color theory, art history, art criticism, identities, self reflection and social issues.
Some course objectives that students will face are how to use art media, techniques, and processes to communicate ideas and themes. Students will develop an understanding of a variety of computer art programs. Students will explore new technologies in the creation of new visual imagery. Students will also cultivate a broad in depth understanding of the meaning and impact of visual arts and the visual world in which we live in. If you want more information, you could ask Mrs. Evans.
