The Tigers shut down the Evergreen Vikings last Friday 37-7 in the league opener at Lingruen Stadium. Zach Bowers led the rushing on the ground for the Tigers with 205 yards on 14 attempts with 2 touchdowns, while Jarrett Krugh led the passing game completing 8 of 14 passes with 121 yards and 2 touchdowns. Krugh’s touchdown passes were to Conner Sonnenberg and Trent Murdock. Maguire Vollmar led the Tiger defense with 10 total tackles, with Austin Like behind him with 9 total tackles.
The Tigers found themselves in some trouble at halftime, being ahead only 10-7. After intermission, the Tigers scored on the first play from scrimmage, a Zach Bowers 78-yard breakaway to give the Tigers lots of momentum. The Tigers ended up holding the once leading rushing in the league, Hunter Van Wert, to only 31 yards total rushing. The Tigers scored 27 unanswered points in the last 2 quarters to give them the huge victory. This week, Liberty Center travels to Delta to face the Panthers on Friday at 7.
