Last Friday, the Liberty Center Quiz Team had their final tournament of the season and later honored the seniors with awards and a meal. The team left right after attendance and the kids returned to class for seventh period. The team headed to the Archbold Evangelical Church to compete against 25 other teams, managing to beat two local teams- Delta and Archbold. Unfortunately, LC did not advance but put in their best effort against Delta, Archbold, Wauseon, Bryan, and Evergreen.

When the Quiz Team returned to the school, they enjoyed a lunch thanks to coach Ahleman and recognized the three seniors that enjoyed their final year of Quiz Team. Jeremiah Kessler, Sam Mcmaster, and Davina Fredrick are all seniors that contributed so much to the team. Kessler was a first-year senior that played every match for the entire season. He received the award for “Rookie of the Year” for doing such a good job his first year. McMaster had been in Quiz Team since eighth grade and had also won the Ohio State Spelling Bee that year. Because of his success and dedication, he received the “Hall of Fame” award. Fredrick spent a lot of time designing the teams t-shirts and doing all of the art work. She got the award for “Most Valuable Player.”

Special thanks goes out to Mrs. Decant for creating goodie bags for all of the team members. Along with the food from Spengler’s, Ms. Ahleman got cupcakes from Cakewalk Cakery in Napoleon. Congratulations Quiz Team on a great season!
