Following the win of the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LII, thousands of fans flooded the streets in celebration. Along with celebration, however, there were also riots. According to New York Daily News, on the night of the victory, people smashed windows of stores and looted a gas station. They also climbed poles, threw bottles, and brought down an awning at a hotel.

Even though there was a lot of violence, only four people were arrested, which encouraged the president of Black Lives Matter New York, Hawk Newsome, to declare, “You can riot if you’re white and your team wins, but if you’re black and being killed, you can’t speak out.”
