On Thursday, September 21, the Liberty Center Tigers played the Pettisville Blackbirds. The game started out with a quick pace. Parker Strauss scored about halfway through the first to make it 1-0 LC. The Blackbirds answered with a goal by Detric Yoder, making the score 1-1. In the second half the score remained the same for most of the half. Shortly after, Detric Yoder scored again with an assist from Connor Wyse, making the score 2-1 Blackbirds. The Tigers could not recover and took a 2-1 loss. LC’s keeper, Orry Killam, had 4 saves on 6 shots, and Pettisville’s keeper, Justin Rupp, had 11 saves on 12 shots. LC’s varsity record is now 5-2-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the NWOAL.
Lc’s JV on the other hand played an amazing game. In the first half the Tigers quickly opened, and Zach Skeens scored twice with Pablo Barahona on both assists, making the score 2-0 at the half. The Tigers had a dominating game and possessed the ball most of the game, allowing a Blackbird a run every now and then. Adam Wells scored in the second half, followed by a goal by Sam Storer assisted by Hunter Thompson, making the score 4-0. The Reserve record is now 6-0-0.
