Week one of league play is in the books. The NWOAL opened league games up last week. This means that out of the 8 teams, 4 of them now have one loss.

Delta at PH: both teams got a touchdown early. Then Patrick Henry put up 29 in the 2nd while Delta scored 15. The two defenses battle it out in the 4th quarter and no one scored. Final score PH 35 Delta 22.

Bryan and Swanton: the Bulldogs came out swinging putting up 24 in 3 quarters compared to Bryan’s 7. The Golden Bears were not done and put up 20 in the fourth quarter for the win 27 to 24.

Liberty Center at Evergreen: the teams battled on the brand new turf field. LC put up 28 in the first quarter. The Vikings were the only ones to score in the second quarter. Going into the half it was Tigers 28 Vikings 7. The Tigers went on to put up 28 in the second half and the Vikings only got in the end zone two more times. Final score, LC 56 Evergreen 20.

Indians and  Blue Streaks play in Wauseon: This was one of the biggest games in the area last week. By halftime the Blue Streaks were up 17 to nothing. The Indians came out of halftime ready to go and put up 14 in the 3rd quarter. Both teams put up 7 in the 4th quarter, but the Blue Streaks came out on top 24 to 21.

After a great opening weekend the league teams will continue to battle it out until week 10.
