It’s finally that time of the year where teams get to clash amongst their league rivals to determine who will be crowned top dog of the league.
In the first week of NWOAL match ups we’ll see a red hot Wauseon Indians teaming coming in 3-0 from non-conference play pitted up against a strong Archbold Bluestreaks team, whose only loss comes by the hands of Liberty-Benton by a score of 34-33.
In this next game we have a dominant Liberty Center Tigers team led by first time head coach Casey Mohler who enters league play 3-0 averaging 30 points a game while only conceding an average of 4 points. The Tigers will be hammering it out against the Evergreen Vikings who posted a 2-1 non-conference record with a loss in the first game of the season to the Otsego Knights, but rallied back the following two weeks beating former NWOAL rival the Montpelier Locomotives and putting a beat down on the Ottawa Hills Green Bears.
In another conference matchup the Swanton Bulldogs, coming off a huge 49-6 win over Rogers, will be heading to Bryan to face the Bryan Golden Bears. Swanton enters this game 2-1 after taking a loss to Toledo Start 34-13 in week two, while Bryan comes in at 1-2 after losing some close games against Van Wert and Fairview.
The final matchup in the NWOAL sees the Delta Panthers up against last year’s division champs the Patrick Henry Patriots. Both teams have gotten of to a slow start however, as both of their non-conference records are 1-2. The Panthers only win coming in week two against Rogers. The Patriots got their first win last week against Columbus Grove by the score of 43-25.
