The Liberty Center Track and Field team has yet to show off their abilities in the field and speed on the track. For the first time this year, the Tigers are going to be participating in a live Invite on April 8th. The school holding the Invitational is Anna High School. Other schools that will be joining Liberty Center for this Invite are Botkins, Minster, New Bremen, Troy Christian, and Summit Country Day. The field events for the meet will begin at 9:00 A.M. followed by the running events at 10:00 A.M. Since this is an Invitational, there are preliminaries for several races and various field events to get into the final events. For the throwing, the best 9 of each event are sent on to the finals, from then on the best throw of the 9 people wins first place. The running events are somewhat similar to the throwing prelims and finals. Each running event will take the best 8 times from the preliminary races and put them in the final races. The officials also say that there will be only one heat of the 1600 and the 3200 for both boys and girls. The Liberty Center Track and Field team is excited to go to their first invite this year and are ready to show off what they have been training for.
