Liberty Center is part of the OMEA (Ohio Music Education Association) District One. After school on Friday, March 3, the Liberty Center Women´s Chorus and Chamber Choir will be going to participate in the OMEA contest. They will each perform three songs in front of three judges who will give them a rating one through five, five being the best. After that, they will each take part in a sight-reading exercise where they have to sight-read a piece in front of a judge to get another rating. The ratings determine whether or not the choirs will go to the state competition. The worst a choir can get and make it to state is two ones and two twos. Last year the Chamber Choir qualified for state and got three twos and a one at state. The event is open to the public and will take place at Archbold High School.
