The Patrick Henry Patriots faced off against the Tigers last night for the Tigers’ first league game. The Tigers played Patrick Henry earlier in the season for the Henry County Classic game, and the Patriots won that game. The Tigers came into the game on a drought and were desperate for a win. The Tigers were down at halftime by 6 points. The game was close throughout the second half, and the game came down to the wire. With 11 seconds left, the game was tied 44 to 44. Patrick Henry had the ball to shoot the last shot, and Zack Carpenter intercepted a pass and got fouled with one second left on the clock. The Tigers were in the double bonus, so Zack had two free throws to win the game. Zack made the first free throw and missed the second free throw to put Liberty up by one. With the last second left, Patrick Henry chucked up a half-court shot and missed to give the Tigers their first league win. The final score was 45-44.
