The Liberty Center football team has hired a new head coach. Rex Lingruen retired after coaching the Liberty Center Tigers for 32 years. The School Board hired Casey Mohler as the new head coach. Mr. Mohler has been coaching as an assistant with Coach Lingruen for 17 years where he served as the defensive coordinator since 2006. Mr. Mohler played for Lingruen and graduated from Liberty Center in 1997.
The Tigers went 9-3 in Rex Lingruen’s final season of 2016. The team was able to get back into the second round of the playoffs where the season ended with a loss to the Patriots of Patrick Henry. Coach Lingruen will be missed, not only by his players, but by the entire community of Liberty Center.
