On Friday night, #4 Liberty Center Tigers went head on with #5 Colonel Crawford Eagles for the first round of playoffs. Both teams entered the game with a record of 8-2 during the regular season. During the first quarter of the game, Zack Carpenter ran for an 18-yard touchdown, while later in the quarter he ran for a 3-yard touchdown, leaving the score 14-0. In the second quarter, the only team to score was the Eagles with Owen Stevens catching an 84-yard pass, making the score 14-7 at half-time. With five minutes left in the third quarter, Blake Treisch ran one yard for a touchdown, tying the score at 14-14. Four seconds into the fourth quarter, Zack Carpenter ran five yards for a Tiger touchdown. Then with four minutes left on the clock, Zack Carpenter ran seven yards, running the score up to 28-14. The Eagles scored another touchdown with one minute left on the clock, with Owen Stevens catching a 44-yard pass, to make the score 28-20. Zane Peterson recovered the Eagles’ onside kick and the Tigers were able to run out the clock.  With the Tigers winning Friday night’s game, they advance onto to play The Patrick Henry Patriots this Friday, at Napoleon’s Buckenmeyer Stadium.
